Courtney Clenney is being held on a charge of second-degree murder with a dangerous weapon.

Clenney, 26, was arrested in Hawaii on Wednesday and will be extradited to Miami-Dade County.

Her defence lawyer, Frank Prieto, confirmed her arrest on Wednesday afternoon.

Frank Prieto, her defence attorney, said she was in Hawaii for drug treatment and PTSD.

We agreed to turn her in if she got charged, so Prieto is astonished. We want her case dismissed.

The arrest warrant was sealed, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said Wednesday evening.

Chief Manuel Morales, US Marshal Gadyaces Serralta, and State Attorney Katherine Fernandez will address the arrest Thursday afternoon.

Clenney's arrest ends a four-month probe by Miami homicide police and prosecutors.

In court, Clenney's lawyer maintained that her client had a right to take deadly action because of threats to her life.

Obumseli's relatives wanted Clenney's arrest after his murder, despite not believing he was dangerous.

Clenney and Obumseli dated for fewer than two years and experienced domestic trouble.

The couple lived in One Paraiso, 3131 NE 7th Ave, for a few months.

The pair has been the subject of several domestic disturbance reports and eviction proceedings.

Two days before the stabbing, police arrived to the residence on April 1 for a domestic disturbance.
